In total I spent about 68 hours in Greyhound busses and Amtrak trains to cover the countrys width. I stopped in Denver/Colorado, Kansas City/Missouri, Chicago/Illinois and eventually will get to the State of Maryland at the east coast. I
Three times is the charm! After seeing ‚The National‘ last October in Los Angeles and in February this year in beautiful Auckland/New Zealand, it worked out to see them a third time live. This time in a very special venue: at Red Rocks Amphitheatre just outside Denver/Colorado. This is one of the must go-concert locations on this planet: a natural amphitheatre formed of red and orange glooming rocks, a magical place with spectacular acoustics.

First of all – I totally underestimated Washington DC. When thinking about Washington it was always that state in the Pacific Northwest that popped up in my head. That is because the final 500 miles of the Pacific Crest Trail follow the crest of the Cascade mountains and have always been my priority thought. But the name „Washington“ got another connotation because I finally paid a visit to the capital of the United States.
